Joakim is a French-Swedish-American professional basketball player. He comes from a long line of professional athletes that includes his father, who was a French tennis star during the '80s, and his grandfather, who was a professional soccer player. He grew up in New York City and played basketball for three different prep schools. His success in high school led him to a university scholarship at the premier basketball program in Florida, where he won back-to-back national championships. While in school, his passionate desire to be a champion was evident when he passed up the opportunity to jump into pro basketball after his sophomore year and stayed with his team to win another championship.
